Changemakers Tutorial (Ages 5–8)

Tuesdays | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

The Changemakers Tutorial is a weekly, project-based learning program designed for young learners ages 5–8 who are curious about the world and excited to explore how people make a difference. This small-group experience blends early academic skill-building, creative play, storytelling, and hands-on discovery through the study of inspiring changemakers throughout history.

Each month, students focus on one changemaker and explore their life, values, and career path through group seminars, guided reading, discussion, independent work, and hands-on projects. One Wednesday each month includes a related field trip that connects learning to real-world careers and environments. The remaining weeks are dedicated to research, project development, reflection, and presentation.

Sample monthly themes include:

• Frida Kahlo – Visiting an art studio and exploring careers in the visual arts

• Julia Child – Dining at a restaurant and learning about the work of chefs and culinary professionals

• George Washington Carver – Studying sustainability and community gardens

The daily rhythm includes:

• Group seminar and circle discussion

• Reading and independent academic work

• Long-form project work

• Outdoor play and movement

• Lunch and social time

The Changemakers Tutorial emphasizes critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and purpose-driven learning. Students are encouraged to ask meaningful questions, explore career possibilities, and connect historical impact to modern-day issues and interests.

Tuition includes all field trip costs allowing families to enjoy a seamless, enriching educational experience.
